Britain’s Hardest-Working Actress: Being Human’s Lenora Crichlow

  • Lenora Crichlow, Being Human‘s resident ghost Annie, is in high demand: she will star in BBC’s Dappers, a dramedy about single mothers in Bristol. The show is written by Catherine Johnson (Mamma Mia!).

Just to clarify, Dappers will be the third series Crichlow has headlined this year. A couple of months ago, she starred in the comedy series, Material Girl, on which she played an up-and-coming fashion designer. Check out how un-Annie she is in this clip below:

Compare that to Crichlow as Annie in the second season premiere of Being Human, which will air on BBC AMERICA late summer.

The girl has skills. As if I needed to tell you that.

Kevin Wicks founded BBCAmerica.com's Anglophenia blog back in 2005 and has been translating British culture for an American audience ever since. While not British himself - he was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri - he once received inordinate hospitality in London for sharing the name of a dead but beloved EastEnders character. His Anglophilia stems from a high school love of Morrissey, whom he calls his "gateway drug" into British culture.
