UK Duo The Ting Tings Nominated For Best New Artist Grammy

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga dominated last night’s Grammy nominations. Not a shocker. This trio of female solo pop stars has walked away with the lion’s share of this year’s music awards. As a result, UK artists, who had done so well at the Grammys in recent years, went largely unrecognized by the academy last night. While not British himself - he was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri - he once received inordinate hospitality in London for sharing the name of a dead but beloved EastEnders character. His Anglophilia stems from a high school love of Morrissey, whom he calls his "gateway drug" into British culture.
