Primeval’ Movie Will Be Set in the U.S.
Variety has picked up the big story: Warner Bros. has bought the rights to BBC AMERICA’s Primeval, and Akiva Goldsman, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of A Beautiful Mind, will produce the film alongside Kerry Foster and Emily Cummins. But the biggest news is this:
WB and Goldsman will transplant the action to the U.S. and ramp up the spectacle.
“There is a solid mythology to the series, but the movie has the dinosaur element of Jurassic Park and the time travel element of Lost, and it just feels like the kind of big movie that Warner Bros. does well,” Foster said.
I reiterate my earlier request: George Clooney and Carla Gugino as Cutter and Helen. Hey, Warners, just let me cast the damn thing…
Be sure to catch the season premiere of Primeval – tomorrow night at 9/8c on BBC AMERICA! And check out the website, which features a preview of the season premiere and clips of the cast and the creatures.
