I posted the Siouxsie and the Banshees version a while back, but this 1968 version is the one that will be familiar to AbFab fans: singer Julie Driscoll, the UK Grace Slick, recorded this cover of the Bob Dylan track with Brian Auger Trinity, a jazz rock outfit. Together, they made “This Wheel’s On Fire” into Jefferson Airplane-esque psychedelic rock, changing the arrangement, distorting the chorus, and setting the stage for Siouxsie’s otherworldly version. Driscoll and Jennifer Saunders‘s husband, Young Ones comic Adrian Edmondson, re-recorded the track in 1992 for Saunders’ new show, a little sitcom called Absolutely Fabulous.
