Mica Paris is one of the few black British R&B singers to find some success in the States. Her biggest hit was her debut single, 1988’s “My One Temptation,” which hit No. 7 on the UK pop chart and was a top 20 R&B hit in the U.S. In an article on Estelle in today’s Telegraph, Mica speaks a bit about her reception here: “People there were fascinated that I was English. They didn’t know there were black people in England.”
