Anglo For Your Ear: Adorable’s “Sunshine Smile”
One of the many short-lived shoegaze bands of the early ’90s, Adorable had their moment and flamed out rather quickly. They signed to Alan McGee’s Creation Records in 1992, and they were expected to be as big as The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. However, their only hit was their very first single, “Sunshine Smile,” an underrated shoegaze classic featuring jangly guitars and sullen vocals. Adorable disbanded in 1994.
