London, Here I Come: Anglophenia Goes To The BRITs

Yes, for the second year in a row, we will venture across the pond to cover the BRIT Awards Red Carpet. Will a sober-and-healthy Amy Winehouse be Mark Ronson‘s surprise guest? Will Arctic Monkeys actually show the hell up? Will anyone dare ask Paul McCartney about Heather Mills? Will Sharon Osbourne offend everyone in the room? Will Mika rough me up for all the sh** I’ve talked about him this year? These and other questions will be answered on Wednesday, February 20th, when the ceremony is held in Earls Court. Stay tuned next week for all the latest.

Kevin Wicks founded BBCAmerica.com's Anglophenia blog back in 2005 and has been translating British culture for an American audience ever since. While not British himself - he was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri - he once received inordinate hospitality in London for sharing the name of a dead but beloved EastEnders character. His Anglophilia stems from a high school love of Morrissey, whom he calls his "gateway drug" into British culture.
