“Sleeping Satellite,” Tasmin Archer‘s debut single, went to No. 1 in the UK in 1992 and was a moderate hit here in the States. You could call her a one-hit wonder, as this was her only single to crack the UK top ten. Thematically, the song is ambitious, taking on man’s flight to the moon and posing some pretty lofty questions about mankind. Most profoundly, she asks, “When we shoot for the stars – what a giant step – have we got what it takes to carry the weight of this concept?” Hmmm, think on that one for a bit and tell me what you come up with…
