Anglo For Your Ear: Robert Plant’s “In the Mood”
At this weekend’s WARMUP party in Queens, New York, the DJ spun the coolest remix of the former Led Zeppelin frontman’s 1983 hit, “In the Mood.” I’d never been that into Plant’s solo material, but this song is a revelation, with a sexy, pulsating bass groove. The video, like so many of the time, makes no sense. (There’s an assortment of hip-hop dancers to show how down with the ‘hood our man Robert is, plus a totally creepy gaggle of singing Stepford Wives at 1:20. I guess they’re all “in the mood”?)
