Some Anglo For Your Ear: The Kinks’ “Autumn Almanac”

There’s always been something disarmingly childlike about The Kinks‘ best songs, making them both comforting and crushing. This 1967 tune is one of the band’s most charming sing-a-longs: “Oooooh, my poor rheumatic back/YES, YES, YES, it’s my autumn almanac.” Marvelous fun.
