When Beck‘s version of this 1980 classic played at the end of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I thought, “This song would sound a lot better sung by a woman.” Thank God for the original. Korgis lead singer James Warren may be a biological male, but his wispy, womanly tenor lends the song a sense of melancholy Mr. Hansen can’t match.
