Congrats to “Gideon’s Daughter” For Its Peabody Win

The Golden Globe-winning drama, Gideon’s Daughter, has added another honor to its growing list: it has been selected as a Peabody Award winner for 2006. Here’s the Peabody committee’s statement:

This delicate character drama uses a complex father-daughter relationship to explore grief and the cult of celebrity against the backdrop of a nation mourning Princess Diana’s death.

Congrats to writer/director Stephen Poliakoff and actors Bill Nighy, Miranda Richardson, and Emily Blunt for the big win.
