June Monsoon is Edina‘s mother and Saffy‘s gran. Edina likes to call her “old woman,” while Patsy refers to her as “Mrs. M.” A widow, she has dabbled with romance, surfed the net, and tried her hand at salsa dancing. Mother is lovable but tactless, and her “helpful” comments do little to diffuse the tensions between Edina and Saffy. She also has the tendency to steal random things from Edina’s house from time to time, donating them to thrift shops where she volunteers her time.
