As you know from recent posts, Kenneth Branagh is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Agatha Christie‘s Murder on the Orient Express, which he also directed. And, now he’s doing the chat show rounds, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live just last night (October 25).

Host Jimmy Kimmel kicks off the below segment by talking about what comes with being honored on Hollywood Boulevard, providing three bullet points: 1) You get to dress like Spider-Man and ask for a $5 donation; 2) You get your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; and 3) They have you put your handprints and footprints in the cement for all time, which is what Branagh is in-line for.

And in the clip Kimmel reveals that it’s happening “tomorrow,” which, in blogging time, is… today!

Kimmel follows up the run-down of accomplishments by asking Branagh, “You’ve been knighted by the Queen of England — where does this rank with that?”

That’s a really good question and, presumably, a hard one to answer. One wouldn’t want to dismiss Queen Elizabeth II, nor underestimate the honor being bestowed on him in La La Land. Especially the night before it happens.

But, like a true gent, Branagh handles the question with diplomacy, seeing the positives of both:

In the above he expresses some nervousness about where his personalized square of cement might be placed on the Walk of Fame. He has a sneaking feeling he might end up alongside canine stars, Lassie and Rin Tin Tin, which he is not necessarily bothered by… but, he might be more comfortable with his fellow homo sapiens.

Well, today is the day and all will be revealed. The ceremony will take place at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA, at 10am Pacific Time (1pm Eastern Time).

What did you think of Kenneth Branagh’s answer to the tricky question?
