This might be the most British of Christmas TV trails since The Great British Bake Off featured a festive Union Jack cake served with a pot of tea on a soccer ball in David Beckham’s Beatle bedroom (which never actually happened).
Sprout Boy is an animated tale being used to round up the best of this year’s biggest BBC Christmas shows in the U.K., including Doctor Who, Sherlock, Luther and The Graham Norton Show. It’s also the story of a lonely Brussels sprout, looking for a bit of companionship.
It’s narrated by Peter Capaldi, and as you can see, the Doctor comes to the rescue, helping our green and rotund friend have a far happier Christmas than his countless sprouty brethren and sistren, abandoned on dinner plates across the nation as the Christmas dinner draws to a close.
